Obituary

Hattie Holmes was born on January 20, 1955 to Eloise and Harvest Holmes in Chicago, Illinois. Hattie was the forth child born of 13 children. Hattie always had a deep love for the Lord that was instilled in her by her mother Eloise and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Hattie met and fell in love with Leroy Scott and had 3 children.

Along Hattieā€™s journey she obtained a Degree of Arts from Malcolm X College on the West side of Chicago. Education was extremely important to her as she instilled a deep passion for it into her children and siblings. Hattie was a caring and nurturing woman who loved spending time with her family on the holidays and treasured many good times with them. She enjoyed: cooking, baking, sewing, dancing, singing, and reading a good book. She enjoyed traveling with her family to various destinations and dining out and movie going.

Hattie was a special woman who touched the hearts of many people she knew; children were especially drawn to her kindness. She was the type of person who would give you her last and a true woman of her word. Hattie transitioned into Eternal Life on August 4th, 2019 at 4:34pm to be with the Lord in Heaven.
Hattie Leaves to cherish her memory her children: Shalonda Holmes-Turner (Richard), Kashuna Holmes-Harrison (Shondell), and Leron Holmes. Her grandchildren: Shonyonce Holmes-Harrison, Zion Turner, Aubree Holmes and Zuri Turner. Her siblings: Janice Holmes, Cassandra Washington (Reginald), Rochelle Kline, Sabrina Carter (Frank), Shunelle Hollis, and Tyrelle Holmes.
She is preceded in death by her Parents: Harvest and Eloise Holmes. Her siblings: Janice Robinson, Eloise Burchett, and Patricia Garrett.
